Revolution

You gotta touch grass, she said with a smile

I said - "yeah girl, it has been a while"

I stay in my head, the doom and gloom brews

I forget to eat, cry 'bout the news

"The revolution will not be televised" was not just about the views

He was saying to make changes, you have to start with you.

Jackson said it too, to the man in the mirror

And now that I'm healing, I see it clearer

You can tear down a system, break through the walls

But where you go, there you are - and that energy stalls

Because the system could be gone tomorrow, but your pain - still there.

look in the mirror and give yourself a long stare

Say "I love you," and look into your eyes

That's the revolution started whether - you smile or cry.
